PET-CT scans utilizes metabolic activity to detect and stage a variety of tumors. The examination requires an intravenous injection of a low-dose of radiolabeled glucose tracer. About 90 minutes after the injection, the imaging camera detects where and how much of the tracer accumulates in the patient’s body, allowing our radiologists
to detect and characterize the nature of tumor.
